Re: ALA chelation - duration?

From my understanding, ALA removes metals from a person's brain, but the bond it forms is very weak. It pulls it out, but then lets it go. DMSA forms a stronger bond. Taking ALA and DMSA together in the protocol will pull the metals out of a person's brain and then help take it out of the body.

It would be a good idea to take DMSA for a few months first before you start with the ALA. The reason is because the ALA penetrates the blood-brain barrier, and if there's a lot of metals in your body, they can penetrate along with the ALA, making the problem worse. Reducing the metals in your body with DMSA first can help prevent that from happening.

DMSA can also help remove lead and other metals too. It's not just for mercury.

@Krosser: even though you were exposed to the filling a long time ago, the mercury which is stuck inside your body will remain forever unless you do something to remove it.

I would follow the Cutler Protocol as precisely as you can. Failure to do so could have unintended negative side effects.
