Homeodent toothpaste is now Glycerin-free!

I read about how glycerin in toothpaste is not good in because it coats your teeth and blocks re-mineralization.

I went to WholeFoods to look at some Tooth Soap, but then didn't have any. However, I see that Homeodent toothpaste is now glycerin-free (not sure how long it's been like that?). Equally good, in my case, I wanted a mint-free product because I'm taking homeopathics right now.


The ingredients listed on the box of the Lemon flavor Homeodent toothpaste are:

Purified water, sorbitol, silicon dioxide, xylitol, lemon oil, sodium lauryl sulfate, xanthan gum, titanium dioxide, Calendula officinalis (Garden marigold), Plantago major (Plantain), Cochlearia armoracia (Horse radish), sodium hydroxide, Hamamelis virginiana (Witch hazel), anise oil.

I've just tried this toothpaste once and notice it feels a bit "harsher" than the other natural toothpastes I was using. I'm guessing that's partially, or fully because there's not a slippery coat of glycerin on my teeth after brushing now!

I still plan to try Toothsoap in the future to compare (even though it's super expensive!).

I've read some controversy about some of the ingredients listed, such as sodium lauryl sulfate and titanium dioxide. Maybe someone knows more about these. Tweet
