Re: Kidney Disease, Chronic Nephritis, Dialysis
I have had a few friends who have stopped doing wheat and found that their feet stopped being so dry. Others had similar side effects that went away. But then there are others like myself who notice no difference at all. Each person is different.
I have found that the mucusless diet is not that hard, once you get used to it. But then, I've been doing it for a very long time. But keep in mind, like today, I had pasta primavera (all vegetable and pasta) with some garlic toast at a local restaurant. I can always tell if I eat something wrong, because my kidneys will tell me IMMEDIATELY! This didn't both them at all.
So, each person has to figure out what's best for them. When I hear about people who say things like don't eat grains, don't eat bread, or whatever, I tend to not listen too much. They are writing a book based on what worked for THEM, not necessarily anyone else. Then other people jump on the band wagon, then get discouraged when the same thing doesn't work for them.
I try to give principles for improving your health in a general way, because I know that maybe you can't eat wheat, or oats or whatever, because YOU have found them not to work for you. However, someone else they may not bother at all. Learn to experiment to find out what works in YOUR case. Learn to listen to your body and ALL of the symptoms it shows you. You will slowly learn what you can eat and what you can't eat.
I'm going to be posting an update on some findings about what I have been doing for the past 2 weeks about a new therapy I started then and the incredible improvements I've been experiencing in my kidney disease.
Hope it helps.
