+ prevent/restore radiation damage? ECHINACEA!!! Re: Japan events...
The more I learn (and the more troubled/toxic the planet becomes) the more I am convinced that my discernment for Rocky & myself to take a tablespoon of Echinacea tincture daily is absolutely correct.
There was a 3 day 'Echinacea Symposium' (Kansas City, 1999) that included information from two of the top Echinacea researchers in the world (plus evidence from clinical studies on Echinacea and the victims of Chernobyl).
The results from a long-term clinical study in the Ukraine on the use of Echinacea to treat victims of the Chernobyl disaster are being unveiled at a press conference on Friday, June 4, 10:30 AM, at the Ritz-Carlton in Kansas City.
Dr. Victoriya F. Pochernyayeva, a leading researcher from Ukraine and the former Soviet Union, will review the results of her long-term studies including:
-
An analysis of how effectively Echinacea purpurea, consumed as a food additive in fruit juices and other non-alcoholic and alcoholic drinks, protects people who are exposed to radiation. Based on her findings, Dr. Pochernyayeva recommends ways Echinacea purpurea food additives can be used most effectively to safeguard a population that is facing high levels of radiation exposure;
-
A study of how Echinacea purpurea can protect the male reproductive system from the effects of radiation;
-
A study of how effectively Echinacea purpurea can protect organs and tissues from radiation damage.
Dr. Rudolf Bauer, the world's leading Echinacea researcher. Dr. Bauer, professor at the Institute of Pharmaceutical Biology, University of Dusseldorf, has published more than 100 research papers and has edited a book on Echinacea. He's currently researching the quality aspects of Echinacea preparations, constituents and pharmacological activity of Echinacea species
I have been searching for the complete transcripts and information presented at this symposium for YEARS (and never been able to find it)...but Grz's post 'lit my fire' again, and lo & behold I just found it!
I had expected (if I could ever find it), the cost would be 'unaffordable' - when I pointed this Symposium out to Willowley earlier today, she offered to "pay half" if I could find it. Well, phenomenally, it was only $80.00!!! So it is ordered, and I should receive it in a few days.
In the meantime, we do have data that proves Echinacea is excellent for preventing and restoring radiation damage:

[Arh Hig Rada Toksikol. 2009] - PubMed result (taking only 4 scrawny, likely half-useless dried-up echinacea tablets of unknown origin, the conclusion was: In conclusion, biological effects observed after administration of Echinacea purpurea preparation suggest that it may be beneficial for the prevention of adverse health effects in workers exposed to ionising radiation.).

Echinacea may become a useful adjunct to cancer treatment. Depression of white blood cell levels during both radiation and chemotherapy may be treated using Echinacea. A study involving fifty-five radiation therapy patients revealed that 85% of those who were treated with E. purpurea simultaneously showed a stable white blood cell count while those without Echinacea showed a steady decline.
Studies have shown that chichoric acid has immunostimulating effects, as well as antioxidant properties. he pharmacological activity of polyphenolic compound found in Echinacea includes also disintoxication, regenerative, anti-inflammatory, antitumor, and adaptogenic.
Caffeic acid glucoside increases the defense against infectious and viral diseases, accelerates the recovery.
Polysaccharides, found in Echinacea have immunostimulating and anti-inflammatory properties; stimulate macrophages activity in phagocytosis of bacterias, viruses and dead cells. Polysaccharides promote tissue regeneration, stimulate fibroblasts, and inhibit hyaluronidase, an enzyme secreted by bacteria in order to break down host cell membranes and penetrate the cells. Inhibition of this enzyme may be one of the mechanisms by which Echinacea supplements help prevent infection.
Echinacea promotes nonspecific T-cell activation, a type of white blood cell important in providing resistance to bacteria, yeast, fungi, parasites, and viruses. The T-cells then increase the production of interferon, an important part of the body's response to viral infections.

And let us not forget (from Dr. Schulze on IF#2): It will also draw out poisons, toxins, heavy metals such as mercury and lead, and even remove radioactive material such as strontium 90. This formula will also remove over 3,000 known drug residues
Activated charcoal, bentonite clay AND apple pectin (all in the IF#2) are effective for neutralizing and adsorbing radiation! Check it out...Google search on: radition + bentonite OR charcoal OR "apple pectin": http://tinyurl.com/4npqwyt

As soon as I get the data from the 'Echinacea Symposium' I will be sharing it as fast as I can. In the meantime...?...
...GET YOUR ECHINACEA & SUPERFOOD IN!!! (and bee pollen and IF#2 and all the other goodnesses Grz suggested...particularly the 'iodine seaweeds' :)
Healthiest of blessings,
Uny
(and thank you SO much...Willow & Grz!!!)
