Which is better for weight loss: water fast or Very low calorie diet (no more than 400 cals)?

Firstly, I know this is not the forum to be asking this question but I know there are alot of knowledgable people visiting this site everyday and feel I will get a very good answer.
Whuch is better for weight loss (i.e. will give quicker results) and have least damage on the health:
Water Fast or very low calorie diet (no more than 400 calories)?
I am currently on day 5 of my
Water Fast (and have only been drinking water) and have lost 10 pounds, which i know is mostly fluids. However. as is expected I am feeling very lethargic and light-headed. Since I am only really doing this fast for weight loss I wanted to enquire whether having a 400 calorie diet instead would provide me with the same results, as I have recently heard this but didnt know whether to believe it.
The lethargy is proving slightly problematic as I am currently revising for an exam, which I know is not ideal when
Water Fasting but this is the only time I will be away from family and therefore can do the fast easily. With my family around it would be impossible as there would be too much hassel from them
I would like to persist with the
Water Fast as apart from the tiredness I am not experiencing any other problems and haven't since the start of the fast, however due to my revision the lethargy is getting to me a little and if I will get the same results wihout health problems on a very low calorie diet then I would rather switch to that.
However if the water fast is better then I will continue with this.
