Re: Quick IF#2 question: Flax whole or ground
Whether the flax seed is ground or whole, it's mixed into the IF#2.
Dr. Schulze has changed from ground to whole flax over the years; we initially used ground flax in our IF#2- because when we'd purchased it from him, ours was ground.
Then a few people mentioned that what they'd just got from him was whole flax.
Then the whole issue of 'rancid ground flax seed' came up (one of those 'internet lies' that is repeated so many times it becomes a 'truth'. Ground flax seed doesn't "go rancid" any faster than any other seed; it does oxidize when ground...just like any other seed. It's the bottled oil that can easily go rancid).
ANYWAY, after that we decided to make/offer it both ways, so folks could choose whichever they prefer (for whatever reason they may prefer it).
We use the ground flax seed version and always will. Reason? Because I don't like the idea of tiny lil' seeds (no matter how mucilaginous they may be) possibly getting stuck in the nooks & crannies of my intestinal tract.
There have been a few people that have tried both and said they couldn't tell a difference in efficacy.
And that's the IF#2 story! :)
Blessings,
Uny
