Quckie reminder for all... Re: Could it be? My gums...
...just like the reason for diseases is not "a lack of pharmaceuticals" - the reason for bleeding gums is not "a lack of herbs". There's something wrong somewhere causing the bleeding gums.
This can be:
-- nutritional void
-- supplement (or combination of supplements)
-- a pathogen (or group of pathogens)
-- weakness in the immune system caused by any number of factors
-- simple lack of circulation
-- any combination of the above (or things I've haven't thought to mention
There are a few herbs that with continued usage that will actually strengthen the immune system (echinacea is one) or correct malfunctions, but most herbal actions are only temporary.
Dr. Schulze says to always remember that "herbs are the roof on the house". If the walls are crumbling or the foundation is crooked, the herbs will 'only do so much' or won't do much at all.
Of course, if one is going to end up being dependent upon something, herbs are much preferable to unnatural supplements or drugs.
It's just as easy to end up with a 'shelf full of herbs', as it is a 'shelf full of supplements or pharmaceuticals'...something that very few herbalists "remember" to point out to others.
Btw, oak bark powder is another herb (Dr. Christopher) recommended for receding gums & pyrrohea :)
