Water fast day 6 question about menstruation/ blood clots

I am on day 6 of my Water Fast and I feel great! I got my period on day 5 of my fast. It seemed normal, however today I passed a bloodclot so huge, I mean grapefruit size, that it pushed my tampon out. Sorry to be so graphic but I've never experienced anything like that before. Normally my periods are short and sweet, very little clotting and last about 4 days wuth mild cramping. I was just wondering if anyone has experienced something similar while fasting? Is this a result of my cleansing or is it an indicator of something else? I am a 29 year old female.
