I like your comment about movement being needed for growth.

Back in 2002 I had the house re-plumbed, and both bathrooms were renovated.

In this dream it's almost as if the renovation didn't take place, or went wrong. This leads me to believe there's some old patterns I must be holding onto that are not practical.

Horses typically represent energy. In this dream, new young energy.

I think this dream is asking me to release the old patterns so the energy can be put to better use?
