My sister was told her osteoporosis was so bad that she had the bones of an 80 year old woman. THAT was at the age of 38 (around 1998) and about the time she was diagnosed with celiac disease, or, gluten sensitivity.
Since giving up wheat, rye, and barley her bone scans CONTINUED to improve to the point where she no longer had to take the medications fosomax(?) and iron pills, and other deficiency medications - her synthroid for hypothyroidism was greatly reduced as well.
Now if only I could get her to take Iodine daily - sigh! ;^)
