Re: Zinc, copper toxicity, improving sleep

Good post, thanks. I did not know zinc can improve sleep. It has always interfered with my sleep, but as you warn, this may be temporary and due to me taking too much. I am very sensitive to zinc and may need to start on 5mg like say.

I have read about zinc and MT in the past but could not find any real scientific basis for the claims made, so I think it needs to be viewed with some caution. However there is a significant amount of scientific data showing that zinc does inhibit/kill Candida.

Zinc picolinate causes extreme symptoms for me (insomnia, brain fog, anxiety). I'm not sure if this is simply because it is well absorbed. I am a bit worried that picolinate might be chelating mercury. I know I am very sensitive to mercury.

I have always been very curious about zinc. I suspect its role in candidiasis is underestimated.

BTW, I have low plasma zinc and also low serum copper. Go figure! If I take zinc I will need to take a little copper too.
