I have a positive story since removal too. My Mirena was fitted in May 07 and over the next two and a half years I suffered loads of side effects. Brain fog, repeated urinary infections, numbness and tingling down my left hand side and in head, daily migraines, vertigo, dizziness, dry skin, blurred vision, violent mood swings, suicidal thoughts, foul discharge and bad breath, extreme fatigue to name but a few! Then in May 09 I had a Grand Mal seizure witnessed by my husband and kids and was hospitalised for several days. I had two more seizures in the August and November of that year. This obviously had a major impact on my life.
However just after the third seizure I started doing my own research on line and realised that the Mirena could be responsible so I demanded my very unco-operative doctor remove it immediately. Literally within 24 hours I started feeling more like my old self again and have improved ever since. I've also never had another seizure.
