I'm on the other side of the country in Western Australia, but my Dad and Step Mum live in a small town right in the middle of the cyclones path. I know they are well prepared, and have shelter, but its still a worry. I don't think they will get much sleep tonight, and I don't think I will either.

I have been in cyclones myself when I was younger, but never one of this size and intensity. It was very frightening, and the noise is incredible.

The people of Australia gave generously to help the victims of Katrina, so I hope the American people will be just as generous with their help, for the people of Queensland.

They have already been through devastating floods this year, and now this cyclone, 2011 has been a very tough year.
