If we take resource consumption seriously as seriously as we take our health, then why do we as consumers continue to support the horribly wasteful bottled water industry? There are so many things wrong with buying bottled water, but surely the immense use of plastic and landfill space is a compelling enough argument to take a second look. Also, the fact is that most of the so-called spring water out there is just filtered tap water masquerading as natural stuff. And there's no guarantee that the spring-sourced water isn't sitting next to a leaking slurry pit sharing the same water table. I get queasy just thinking about it. Home-based methods of purifying and cleaning water are a far better and healthier means of getting our daily water intake than the unreliable and wasteful bottled water industry. I've been using a system from Water For Life (http://waterforlifeusa.com/) for a while now, and I feel much more at ease with my water choices.
