Hello tgmtel,
I find it quite scary that anyone can place a given and extended length of time on a water-only fast. 54 days is a long time and would require exceptional food reserves of a high quality.
The contemporary protagonist of water-only fasting, Dr Joel Fuhrman MD advises anyone not to go beyond the 40day stage or thereabouts in case electrolytes are lowered too much and there is a danger to health. This can only be determined by blood tests.
Any water-only fast should be dictated by daily developments as they arise and the symptom complex that only a professionally qualified person would be able to identify.
For example, have any of you contemplated a Blood Pressure monitor for use at home as this is indispensable on a daily basis throughout.
