Quick question: Breathing in Lugol's fumes harmful?

Just got a quick question.

Is it harmful to breath in the smell/fumes of Lugol's?

When I opened the plastic dropper bottles to transfer it to the glass ones, I sniffed the stuff a couple of times, as I usually do with tinctures, but then I remembered that this is a chemical, not an herb. I could also smell it for a prolonged time while I was transfering it to the glass bottles (I was using a dropper to transfer the iodine).
