Re: DHEA supplementation

This doctor successfully uses DHEA supplementation to lower Lp(a) to treat heart disease. He says its safe if the doses are kept in range.Do you know of any scientific studies that indicate any problems with DHEA supplementation at reasonable doses?

I am not a fan of exogenous hormones, including DHEA supplements.  They can shut down your body's own production of the hormone if used long term.  And I have seen people really mess with their hormones in general by using DHEA including one woman who had estrogen levels off the chart.  People should not fool around with hormones as supplements.

If you want to raise your DHEA levels support your adrenals so they can produce what your body requires.
