Controlling fleas naturally

With the overabundance of moisture in our area over the past 12 months, flea infestation has been a serious and seemingly endless problem.

One thing that we have found to be quite effective is the use of diatomaceous earth - 100% organic and safe for use inside and outside.

Diatoms, when viewed under a microscope, appear prickly and quite beautiful and their sharp structures actually pierce, abrade, and puncture the exoskeletons of small insects. This includes aphids, chiggers, ticks, etc.

It comes in a powdered form and can be sprinkled liberally in the yard, garden, and inside the house. If you choose to use it in your living areas, leave it down for a few days and vacuum it up. If you're experiencing a particularly tenacious infestation, repeat the process and apply the powder directly to the pet(s) using a brush to work the powder into the pet's skin.

Egad....we were SO glad to learn about this and are happy to pass it along!
