Re: Jelloware: Biodegradable, Vegan, Edible Cups

Agar agar is made primarily from seaweeds, and is an abundant and renewable source of gelatine. I would be careful about where the seaweed is harvested from, as some oceans are very polluted. Always a good idea to check the source.

This product might be expensive to buy, but we can use the same sort of ideas, to make our own edible containers, or compostable containers. Like bread bowls for soup, or banana leaves for plates, or one I like to make, lettuce leaf salad bowls. Pumpkins also make good soup containers. So many possibilities for edible food containers.

When I was growing up in Asia, we would buy food from the markets, it was always served on a banana leaf, and we ate with our hands. I can remember well, the treat of coconut sweet rice, wrapped up and cooked in a banana or pandan leaf, delicious, and totally biodegradable. :)

What do you think would make a better name for this product Chiron? Maybe "Jups" ?
