Re: Quote of the Day

I read lots of message boards and see many errors, both grammar and punctuation ones.

Getting the message across always seemed to be far more important than literary correctness. At least to me.

I grew up with mountain parents. We had our own way of stating things that differed from the accepted norms.

Example:

Correct way: There aren't any.
Correct way: There are none.
Our way: They ain't nary'n.

Any of the three gets the point across.

I still like the quote. I have known people if asked "How are you?" will take out their x-rays and show them.
