Weston Price Funding...
Many people who tout vegan or vegetarian ways of life fall back on the argument that Weston Price Foundation has received funding from the beef industries in order to cast a poor light on the studies...
First of all... if the people who use this approach to turn people away from the truth, knew a thing about funding studies (I have been through the grant writing and funding process a few times in my life), they would realize that the best possible sources for grants come from the industries that would have a vested interest in them. This is true for the China Study as well... a great deal of their funding came from the NIH, which in turn receives the bulk of their funding from the processed food industries... those industries that process, and then artificially fortify things, like breakfast cereals, snack foods, sodas, etc. And so it goes for nearly any study of any size... independently funded studies are rare, and even rarer still, are those that see the light of day, especially if they contradict the current politically correct *diet* of the day.
Second of all... the Weston Price Foundation *strongly emphasizes* the vital importance of using animal products from organically raised, free range, pastured, grass fed, chemical and drug free animals. Hardly an endorsement for the *funding* Concentrated Feed Operations of modern animal husbandry.
While they may have received funding from the industry... does their recommendations support the conventional industries? No, not in the very least.
Here is another article telling the truth...
You have been lied to about butter
http://www.naturalnews.com/031002_butter_misinformation.html
The article does not delve into it much, however, real, raw butter from organically and\or biodynamically raised, and pastured dairy animals is loaded with omega threes.
And CLAs can be 500x the amount found in conventional dairy... why?
Grain feed them and the CLA content drops dramatically, and their *fats* switch to being loaded with omega sixes... same thing with us.
These changes in fat content and metabolism profoundly affect EVERYTHING that relies on fatty acids in your systems... brain and nervous system function, hormone production, the ability to burn fat for fuel, and on and on.
