Re: Fighting myself to start my fast, really annoying!!!!
It's complicated, isn't it?
Most of us realize that long
Water Fast are most conducive to certain health situations or particular goals. 30 days is probably closer to "true hunger" as well, when the body says, "I'm done."
A longer fast is motivating too. I mean...why do the
Water Fast unless you're going to "do it right?"
The brilliant gems of health seem to lie beyond 14 - 21 days.
And yet, at the same time, those big numbers are scary. As motivating as they can be, they're also demotivating.
Thirty days of NOT eating? How am I going to manage?
For me, I remembered back when I'd fasted before--once for seven days, and the other time, for ten. Sure, they're short distances, but I still used them to recall that hunger disappeared after the first three days.
So that's what I focused on this time--just getting through that first day, hour by hour. And then the next day, hour by hour. Etc, etc. Not even thinking about the big number. That big number would come later, after I'd survived.
But it's soooo mental, isn't it? That's where the challenge lies. In our heads.
Good luck.
You can do it!
