Re: Forum guidelines & healing 'thinks & thoughts'... Re: varicocele-please help!
Wow, great stuff, thank you so much! You're more than welcome!
"I do want to keep this forum "on topic""
Totaly understandable...thank YOU so much!
"And since knut87 is using triphala..."
Using many more supps, unfortunatly :), hope that doesn't get in the way...well, since the majority of supplements are "isolated substances" (unlike anything that is found in nature or is natural to the body) - there's a good likelihood that (although they may be "bandaiding" symptoms), they're probably throwing the body out of it's natural balance and homeostasis. The cause of symptoms or disease isn't a "lack of pharmaceuticals" nor is it a "lack of supplements". If one is missing a vital element of nutrition, it's typically because we're not eating properly or assimilating/processing properly. Around here when we say "bandaiding", think of this: if the oil light on your dashboard comes on, that's a symptom that something is wrong with the car (usually the oil is low...but it may be something else). So, if we put a piece of duct tape over the light (a "bandaid") we can make the "symptom" go away (or at least make it so we can't see it or notice it). But symptoms are the only way our body has of crying out "something is wrong! and I need your help!). Using a supplement to squelch a symptom typically is about as healthy to your body as using a piece of duct tape is to your car. There are some "supplements" (mostly herbs, IF they're not amongst the 90-95% of all herbal products on the market that are weak, toxic and mostly useless: ) that actually address the cause of the problem and help us fix or repair the damage...but isolated chemicals extracted from "natural" foods & plants are no longer natural. You'll find tons of solid information in the links that Water_01 posted to you. If you'd like, get me a list of what you're taking (and why), and in the next day or two (or three...there's quite a few posts for me to get to before yours), I'll go over it for you.
"It sounds like knut87 is fairly young.."
You're right, what's interesting is that most with varicocele are of young age(15-30). Also intresting is that 98% develop it on the left side, maybe colon put mor pressure on the left!? From the looks of those diagrams and the info in that study, it would appear the left spermatic cord is a bit closer to the colon than the right. Since virtually everyone is constipated (whether it presents as lack of bms, or too many...caused by only small amounts coming out several times daily), that always means there's some level of swelling & engorgement of the colon...which means pressure on the cord. The region of the colon from the lower sigmoid up to the transverse (which would affect the left) is common for 'build-up' and impaction/swelling...that's because the chyme (food & water & digestive fluids broken down into an "applesauce-like" substance, that goes into the large intestine from the small), is very "liquidy" when it goes into the ascending colon, but as it makes it way up the ascending, across the transvers and then starts down into the descending & sigmoid colons, the water/fluid is assimilated until the chyme becomes more solid fecal matter. So it's more likely to 'clog up' when it's less liquid-ish.
I'll defnitly go with all 3 suggestions of yours, you obviously know your subject and I trust your opinion. I'm glad you see the logic in it, and I do believe I 'know my subject'...but that is NO reason to "trust my opinion" and start putting things in your body before YOU know it's right for you! (unless of course, you've already researched it, come to a similar conclusion, and my information confirms what you already were thinking).
I suggest reading the articles and chapters below before making a decision (remembering, these healers/authors referred to 'constipation' as having less than 2-3 bms daily, and many times things like IBS and frequent over-soft or urgent stools is just as indicative of bowel compromise and build-up/impaction as too infrequent and hard):

And here's the herbs in the IF#1/IF#2, how they work, and instructions for usage (and of course, you already have a LOT of info in the FAQ file that Water_01 posted, too). curezone.com/schulze/handbook/intestinal.asp#1
If you are going to go with those suggestions, here's some sources/suggestios (so you can do a bit of price/quality comparison):
For colon cleansing, I suggest IF#1 (capsules) and IF#2 (in powder, not capsules). You can get Dr. Schulzes original formulas at:
And these three make the same formulas for less money:
Health Freedom Resources: Health Freedom Resources (used to be part of some kind of affiliate program with Dr. Schulze), and uses organic herbs:
Absolutely Naturale: www.abnat.com/ (uses the same formulas as Dr. Schulze as far as I can tell 0on the IF#1/IF#2 but doesn't always use organic):
Herbal Apothecary: Herbal Apothecary Storefront (my husband & myself - uses all organic and the same formulas as Dr. Schulze & Christopher). You can read about how we create the products for our Apothecary here: Herbal Apothecary Current *Healing Product List* (the list needs updating, it's no longer "current").
As far as the Herbal Calcium formula (by Dr. Christopher), very sadly & frustratingly since his children took over his company (after his death), they no longer insist on using 'top quality' organic herbs (like he did), and they've changed some of his formulas :( We have that original formula as a tincture (assimilates better than capsules)...or you could buy all the herbs and make it yourself (if you want the 'recipe', it's been posted before so you should be able to find it by searching).
White Oak bark (you'll want cut & sifted - commonly written as c/s...not the powdered) is available at Pacific Botanicals Pacific Botanicals :: Product Map (A-Z) , and Mountain Rose Mountain Rose Herbs .
Many thanks again!
Ps: I read your article on rock based calcium...do you think these statements hold true for coral calcium? Yes indeedy, I'm absolutely sure of it. First I think it's not rockbased but secreted by animals(corals)and the charge is negative like with plant minerals. Aditionally there are other minerals and traceminerals that make for better absorbtion. Let me know what you think! The primary component of coral calcium is petrified coral (and yes, it has many trace minerals) - it's all 'accepted' by the body (we don't throw it up), and a small percentage is assimilated and utilized effective, but the rest is assimilated and cannot be utilized and cannot be removed by the body, so it's deposited out of the bloodstream into places 'as described'. As far as "alkalizing", oh yes, powdered calcium 'soaks up acid'...and so many people feel much better when they first start taking it. But our body is perfectly capable of maintaining it's own acid/alkaline balance (if all systems/organs are functioning and the diet is correct). We NEED our stomach acid to properly break down and digest food (and kill pathogens in the food). Low stomach acid = all KINDS of compromises and problems. Besides, humans aren't designed to eat rocks & shells (nor did you ever look at a rock or a shell and think of it as something to eat).
Check this out when you get the time: ~!~ Schulze GEM! How to choose a protocol/teacher/book MUST READ and it'll all make a lot more sense to you, methinks. We've got WAY too many people writing books, selling advice and profiting from supplements (all of which wouldn't have a job if we restored, cleansed & healed ourselves 'naturally') Btw, the protocols and healing methodologies I suggest are not all "Schulze" (he's just the one that published the most).
Healthiest of blessings!
