Any harm in MSM or other chelating substances with a metal knee?

Moms had a metal knee prosthetic installed 5 years ago. (Total knee replacement surgery). I don't know what it's made of, but assume either stainless steel or titanium? Anyways, its metal, I know that.

She wants to take MSM. Actually, she wants to take quite a bit of it, up to 20 grams daily. This amount is not harmful in normal people. However, I have read that it has a chelating effect. This makes me wonder if it might begin eroding her knee prosthetic and sending the metal particles into her blood to get trapped in her brain.

Also, does anyone think she might end up poisoned from the metal knee, even without using chelating agents?

Ugh. Thanks.
