Isn't rape the same as linseed or flax? Both of which are supposed to be healthy oils to take. I know that when I was a kid we boiled up linceed for horses for several hours because it was supposed to be toxic, and gave off - I think prussic acid [which my Collins English Dictionary tells me is 'an extremely poisonous aqueous solution of hydrogen cyanide']It was however great for building up the condition on a poor or old horse. However linceed is freely available in health food shops, and eaten ground up and raw with salads ect.Can anyone solve this one? Deotima.
