Re: Cost of Being Vegan vs Omnivore

Thanks for the links (I'm aka 46511]. :) I decided to show an ID vs a number.

Good points. I can buy organic winter wheat for $.99 a pound and cook 2 meals worth in a 40 oz Thermos for 50 cents. Rice and bean type meals are also very economical. Taste wise, I prefer vegan foods. There's no way I'd eat animal foods for their flavor. Now that I believe I can sustain my body on plant foods, I may not go near animal proteins at all. I can hopefully get Omega 3s from walnuts, not fish. Maybe cod liver oil if I get the gut fixed. I can't tolerate fish oil or CLO any more, and I'd bet I need Omega 3.

I may have to keep an eye on my B12 and zinc/copper levels/ratio. I was once B12 deficient after eating vegan off and on for several years, and not watching my B12 levels.

Joe
