Re: Need advice for pain

I'm sorry you are going thru this. I recently did too...unbearable pain then got dry socket to boot!! Nothing was touching the pain...not tylenol, not rx codiene...nothing.

I was desperate and here are some things that worked for me. Warm water both swishing with it and constantly splashing it on that cheek. Don't know why it helped but it did. Or rice in a sock and heat it til warm and apply.

Go to an all night drug store and get Red Cross kit that has Clove oil in it (unless you have better clove oil at home already). The clove oil Tremendously relieved the pain of the dry socket so it may help w/ your tooth/gum pain. Yes it burns some but I didn't care considering the pain I was in and the relief it brought was worth it.

You can try garlic too...chewing on it or gently biting down on a piece of a cut open clove. But in short spurts as again, it can burn (the gums) if left too long I think. Garlic might not work there is already a crown there..I'm not sure. The clove oil helped me more though.

For infection I also ended up swishing with hyrogen peroxide as well as coconut oil with oregano oil in it (edit to add and swishing with lots of good Sea Salt in distilled water).

I hope you are out of pain soon. Amazing how much agony tooth pain can bring:(
