Newbie: Looking into getting tested

Hello, I was looking into heavy metal testing because it's been suggested that since nothing seems to really work for me, that metals may be an underlying problem. could be although I don't have any symtoms of heavy metals, but I have had mercury fillings removed ( and told that it wasn't done the correct way, so now I've inhaled the fumes and am probalby even MORE toxic. Great huh???? I have had candida, and wicked vaginal yeast that has been so difficult to erradicate.
I'm seeing a new doctor (ND) this week, and I'm pretty sure his test is urnine. Do you think it will be accurate and safe to do? More than hair?
He uses something called Meridian Stress Assesment test to see how toxic I am, and then we go from there. (amonst other things)
