Re: Tincture Moon Dates
You're more than welcome Jackie! :-)
I'm glad you asked that because there is one item that I forget to tell you you'd need but probably already have and that's a turkey baster. That is how we extract the tincture from the jar.
This is going to sound complicated but it's really not lol! When you're ready to harvest a bottle of tincture from the jar you'd want to suck up however much you want to harvest with the turkey baster, then you'd take a spoon and get some of the herb out and put them both in one of those bags I linked to and press the tincture out, you throw away the herb you've pressed.
Since I know the next question you'll ask is how much of each (I know because I asked the same thing lol), I'll go ahead and answer it. Before you start harvesting let's say your jar is 2/3 macerated herb and 1/3 alcohol float, you want to take equal amounts of each so that when you're done harvesting you'll still have 2/3 herb and 1/3 float left in the jar. This step is really more important for Uny because she sells them and her end product needs to be consistent but for us gals that make it for home use if it doesn't end up exact it's NO BIG DEAL, really lol! I just try to get it as close as I can but I NEVER stress over it.
After the first time you press some you'll be an old pro and you'll have more confidence the next time too!
Great questions!
