I'm so sorry that you're experiencing these blues.  Something that may help you to take a step forward is to remember what "young love" really is.  When teenagers and young adults are "in love," they're usually "in heat."  The relationships are typically based upon passion rather than the settled trust and partnership of a healthy relationship.

When I began college, I dated a guy that I expected to live the rest of my life with.  He was attractive, extremely passionate, fun, and he had myriad issues that didn't surface until we had gotten to know one another better.  What I believed him to be was not what he truly was, at all.  There was "a reason" that you didn't hit it off with this former love - you may not ever be able to know what the reason was, but the lesson here might be to accept what is often so difficult for us human beings to hear:  "No."  We don't like not having what we want, even if what we think we want doesn't even exist  Take time to let this go, gently.  Take time for yourself and get to know yourself, better.

We're older and we can now look back on our lifetimes to evaluate the lessons that we've learned.  There is no such thing as "Prince / Princess Charming."  There is no such thing as a "perfect" partner.  There is no such thing as "happily ever after."  There is only companionship, partnership, honesty, truth, and mutual support.  Without mutual support, honesty, and partnership, any relationship (including platonic) is hollow and meaningless.

This, too, shall pass.  Brightest blessings to you.
