Mirena and bad cramping help

Hi All

I am new here. I had the Mirena IUD put in last Thursday. I am 43 years old with 3 children. I only had this put in because I have iron deficiency anemia. My periods come about every 23 days, and I bleed heavy for the first two days. Also, I spot for 5 days prior to my periods. So it became a pain, so I decided to try the Mirena IUD. I cannot take BCP because I smoke and have high blood pressure.

Since Thursday, I have had no bleeding, but cramps. I cannot take NSAID's like Naproxen because it elevates my blood pressure.

I am now on day 5 with the Mirena and I still have cramping.

I went to the GYN yesterday and the Mirena is still in place.

Is this thing not agreeing with me? Is it normal to have these cramps like this?

I am ready to get this thing pulled out.

The insertion was painful, even though he said it went in just fine.

Does it hurt as bad to get it taken out? And if I do decide to have it out, am I going to continue to have bad cramping for a long time?

Maybe I haven't given this thing enough of a chance?

The cramps aren't getting any better, and I am tired of them.

Any help would be appreciated. Thank you
