super dry hands and feets

my good friend here has had a problem since 5, when he accidentally got some glass in his foot... somehow he makes the links between this and having chronically very very dry hands and feet... cracking and such, leathery texture.

he saw a psychic who said it was gonna be fixed easily once he was going to work with fixing his intestines... as far as i know he doesnt have any digestive problems though.

do you know anything that could help him, or what might be the source? he said his father was somewhat like this also, but less... what is impressing is that the skin on the rest of his body is superb, only hands and feet are super dry... and he is incredibly healthy so i dont suspect its a deficiency of any kind...
