Can this be a healing crisis?
My husband applied several highly diluted (1:100) essential oils (peppermint, oregano, white thyme, basil, wintergreen, cypress) to my back (I have severe scoliosis) a little over a week ago, a couple of days in a row. These oils were therapeutic-grade, GS-verified, but NOT Young Living. Since a week ago today, I have had body aches (joint & muscle the first 2-3 days; now only muscle), low-grade general headache occasionally, severe ice pick stabs behind the right ear and near the back of my head (sometimes constantly for more than 24 hours), extreme fatigue, fevers from early-afternoon to nearly morning each night ranging from 100.5-102.7, huge hunger pangs but inability of stomach to hold much food at a time, absolutely no respiratory symptoms and no gastro-intestinal upset except for a lot of belching, even if I've had nothing but water for hours. The thing that still keeps me awake all day and most of the night (until I give in and take a pain pill of some sort) is the discomfort/diffuse pain I feel in my neck and the back of my head if I lie down, no matter which way I turn my body or head, although I sleep on a small, soft down pillow. My neck also bothers me when I am upright, although not as much. I feel pretty decent from the time I get up in the morning until about noon(except for the fatigue), and then the fever starts to climb, Ice Pick Man usually returns (if he has given me a break at all), and I have to climb back into bed again.
With my oils so well diluted, it's hard to believe I got an "overdose." Could this be a healing crisis I am in? I have read that scoliosis can be caused by dormant viruses in the spine; could I have "stirred up" an old virus?
Several people in my small town have the "flu" but they have respiratory symptoms, which I do not have. If this is a healing crisis, would you suggest I stop the oils completely until my fever is gone, or increase them? The reason I ask is because I did stop using any oils at all after 4 days of illness, for a period of 48 hours, after which my fever vanished for about 30 hours. 18 hours into that 30 hours, I used diluted basil on the back of my neck to try to relieve some of the discomfort, and then 12 hours later my fever shot up to 102 in the middle of the afternoon, when before it was never that high except around midnight.
I've mostly been eating homemade soup and raw goat milk all week; anything remotely resembling junk food has no appeal whatsoever. I'm trying to increase my water intake; my stomach capacity right now is just very small. I make my own liposomal vitamin C and went through a pint of it on Friday, felt better Saturday morning, then my temp spiked that afternoon. Should I just keep taking that? (This particular batch tested to be almost 100% encapsulated.)
I would appreciate greatly any advice anyone might have regarding my continued use of the oils, or any recommendations for getting rid of the fever. My elderly mother has been in the hospital for 4 days, and I have not been able to go see her. I have no health insurance and cannot afford to go to the doctor after investing so much in my oils. (I'm not sure they would know what a healing crisis is, anyway.)
Thanks.
