How strange, I also had a severe spinal injury before the ME/CFS symptoms. This was in 1982 [I bought a horse they said you couldn't ride - you couldn't, she reared over backwards on top of me and broke my spine in 5 places] I didn't get on with the morphine - it gave me horrid delusional trips, and I opted to use the usual painkillers, lots of them. I guess that sort of thing shocks the immune system. Interesting that you say the liver collects 'sludge' after spinal injury, I had never known that before.
