Buerger's Disease and Water Fasting?

a friend has buergers and is scared to Water Fast because he thinks if his kidneys stop working they won't start working again due to buergers.

Obviously we know that this is incorrect, but does anybody have any info that I can forward to him?

Any anecdotial evidence?
