I have endometriosis, and I was told I have to have surgery for a second time. I was distraught and didn't do anything for several months. Then, however, a physician's assistant told me that I can have a say in the operative plan, which I didn't know. In other words, the doctor doesn't just get to go in there and do whatever he wants. I asked my doctor about it and he said he's willing to do surgery that is just a clean-up without removing any vital tissue. I don't know if this helps you or not, but I thought doctors could just do whatever they wanted and I was mistaken.
