Re: Vit D post

>>"TPTB are worried that the mega doses will reveal the immunosuppression and destroy all the work they put into convincing every man woman and child into taking a supplement that should be freely provided by nature"<<

*should be freely provided by nature* is the take home point here.

U.S. diets prior to the 1950's generally had 10x the fat soluble vitamin content of today's diets even with our *fortified foods*. People generally used animal fats loaded with animal forms of A, D, K, and E...

This, in addition to them likely having more sun exposure than most people today... per capita.

It is interesting to note that of the estimated 675,000 Americans that died from the A/H1N1 pandemic influenza in the United States in 1918-1919, that many of the deaths were from secondary bacterial pneumonia... which vitamin D is known to reduce\suppress.

Cytokines are part of the immune response as well... and vitamin D has been found to modulate this preventing a cytokine storm... the cytokine storm being another cause of death in those who fell sick.

Given that the death rates during this flu *pandemic* were much higher in the northern states, and lower along the southern borders and southern coasts... there is a strong correlation, as the UVB exposure in say Texas, would be greater than Connecticut.

All of that said... who knows with the damage we have done to the atmosphere, along with the rest of this planet, whether sun exposure is anything close to what it should be in order to maximize health and natural production of D - even without chemtrails... even wild and captive animals have been recorded as *gaining weight* in several recent reports, developing illnesses and cancers, etc... the whole d@mn planet's metabolic processes are dramatically different than what they should be. In addition, human fat soluble vitamin metabolism has changed dramatically as well, given the fake, plastic fats and oils that were introduced and pushed onto\into the American diet after WWII, let alone all of the other chemical and environmental assaults.

In addition, when one finds that too little of a *nutrient* compromises immune function, you can almost guarantee that too much will do the same.

To try and second guess it all in today's minute, by minute, fluctuating, totally messed up environment, is folly IMO. I suspect that the best course of action is to eat as nutrient dense a diet as possible... and supplement ONLY if one must in order to get and then remain healthy.

My guess is that if someone supplements with D, without addressing the other 3, A, E, and K, they could run into problems, as one deficiency, such as *D*, usually indicates other deficiencies with fat soluble vitamins, especially K.
