As most of you know, I posted my Humaworm experience on my blog, and today I got this email. I thought you would get a kick out of it.

My reply is beneath her email. People are so ignorant, and they believe whatever the medical community tells them. We all know better, don't we? QUACKWATCH? She is sending me to QUACKWATCH, which is run by who? A group of DOCTORS!

Hi, I'm not trying to be a jerk, just trying to help open your eyes and give you some information to think about. I was reading what you've been saying about parasites and wanted to comment, but don't have an account. Please hear me out. I hope you read this instead of brushing it off; too much misinformation abounds on this topic. To preface, I am a fourth year biology student, with a focus on microbiology (or small organisms: parasites, bacteria, etc).

As someone who actually studies and works with parasites, it really pisses me off when people trot out that "nearly everyone has parasites BS." Maybe in third-world countries, perhaps. The people who claim this are looking at a very broad (and incorrect) definition of the word "parasite" that often includes bacteria and other such non-parasitic organisms in their attempt to scare people into giving them money.

Very few people actually have parasites. Detoxes and cleanses are also quakery that is purely to make money. Cleansing fasts are a good thing to do from time to time, but you don't need any magical herbs and expensive products or enemas to achieve this.

Misinformation abounds at the hands of non-scientist idiots who are not ashamed to lie to make some money. If you get your information from websites that are also SELLING something, that's a good indication that you are not getting the most comprehensively researched information.

As they say in the article, the very notion that our bodies lack the ability to completely eliminate its own wastes is absurd. That is what your kidneys do. If that were not the case, we would have died out as a species, long long ago.

Hmmm...so maybe you can explain the rectal itching and crawling sensations in my eyes, and the TONS of pinworms and roundworms that came out in my stool after herbal treatments (verified by a lab), or the ones I pulled out of my nose, or the TONS of roundworms that came out of my cat after herbal treatment, or maybe the chronic gingivitis that no dentist could cure that went away after my herbal parasite treatment, or maybe even the swelling in my lymph nodes of 10 years that went away after my parasite treatment? Can you explain the small larvae that were erupting out of my skin during my herbal parasite treatment? Yes, they were larvae. Also verified by a lab. You can't? .

My grandma and her mother before her were both root doctors, so it was passed down to me. We were dirt poor. We couldn't afford doctors and hospitals, but we didn't need them. I never go to doctors unless I can't cure something myself in 10 days, which is NEVER.
