Energy From Space - 'Sol', Our Sun's Name

I was thinking, as oxygen is required, here on Earth to ignite a flame and this flame is fed by oxygen, for its continuance of burning, it brought me to wonder about what is it that keeps the sun burning. As there is no oxygen in space, as far as we know today, just what elements are required, I asked myself.

I did a little research and found that the sun primarily is fuelled by hydrogen. The hydrogen goes through the process of fusion, requiring massive amounts of degrees of heat, deep in the core of the sun which then converts the hydrogen into helium.

The earth was primarily made of these two elements in the beginning and many more elements came into existence during the forward development and evolution of the planet. As the article states, 'We are all recycled star dust'. Its just so amazing.

I then imagine hundreds, thousands, millions and billions of years from now, the form earth will be in and also new elements that may of come into exsistence. Pretty exciting.
