Re: Doctors?

Yep. My primary care physician, who had seen my health deteriorate since the mirena was inserted (by a different doctor), and had every test under the sun run on me during that time, gave me the runaround about removal.

Given the huge list of side effects for nearly all birth control, i would have thought one of her first suggestions after my health declined would be to try and have it removed, but month after month she insisted that the mirena couldn't be the problem. And I can't even blame allopathic medicine, since my naturopath told me the same thing.

Anyways, besides denying it could be a problem, my Primary Care doctor refused to remove it the first time I asked -- saying that only the physician who inserted it could remove it, WHICH IS NOT TRUE -- and then the second time after I came in to have it removed, finally DID remove it, saying it probably wouldn't help anything -- but made me undergo pregnancy testing supposedly required by Bayer before removal. Too bad Bayer didn't pay for the testing, removal, insertion, or all my problems in between.

I am convinced my doctor recieved a kickback for every mirena not removed. There is no other reason in my mind for such pigheaded denial of ANY sideeffects whatsoever, and refusal to do a relatively easy procedure at a patient's request.
