I don't take the above in a fire-and-brimstone way, but it speaks (to me)of letting the Water Fast PROCESS be simple, rather than overdirecting, or micro-managing it. "water only", is the spirit of the water fast, generally, though naturally one might interpret this to include cool enemas. never done one myself.
