I have to agree with recovery. The use of iodine/iodides in medicine have been well documented since it's discovery in 1811. Iodine has been used since the 11th century to treat hyperthyroidism known as goitre as well as hypothyroidism. Before the 1950's every MD knew the importance of Iodine and utilized it in their practice.
Saying that Lugol's is not for human consumption is not only incorrect it's inhumane as there are so many people today needing this medicine that doctors once referred to as a panacea for all of human ills. Doctor's used to learn a rhyme in medical school, 'If ye don't know what, when or why, prescribe ye then, K & I', potassium iodide.
