I don't believe DMSA has a noticable effect on copper. I do know ALA increases copper levels very slightly(a few percent during a round). I am not sure about urine testing either, generally if copper is a problem you can tell by a RBC copper test and most easily a hair test. If you haven't had a hair test yet get one through DDI you can get it at directlabs.com without a script. That's the test Andy suggests and the one I personally got to diagnose my mercury toxicity. It will show copper, as will the RBC Copper test. That can be falsely elevated if there is a lot of inflammation in your body though.
