Re: BV: I'm cured!

I too am a recovered BV sufferer, but I never have to douche or use any vaginal suppositories. All of those things you mentioned worked for a while, but I always had to repeat them and personally, I don't want to have to think about my vagina every time I have sex with my husband or worry about an embarrassing odor EVER! Well what I discovered after much trial and error, every treatment on the net, and round after round of Antibiotics , is that this is NOT a problem with the vagina, it is a PH problem of the whole body! And the only way to fix your whole body's PH is with your diet. The reason this ailment is so widespread is because the american diet is so acidic. If you look at our teeth, they are designed for chewing vegetables, and eating a little meat. We have pulverizing teeth, canines and incisors. We aren't meant to eat grain at all. We don't have flat grinding teeth. We had to invent mills to crush the grains for us. Vegetables are the only food that lowers your PH. Go online and research the low acid diet and it will be of great help in what to eat and what to avoid. I eat a large salad full of as many vegetables as I can find seasonally with lemon juice and olive oil for dressing topped with olives and avocados and nuts, yum! and I eat this for every meal and they I have a small serving of meat. A real serving of meat is the size of a deck of cards. I used to eat way too much meat which I think is what threw off my PH so far. Grains and sugars (including fruit) throw your PH off quickly and should be limited to very little if any. And alcohol is the worst! A single glass of wine will bring back the first signs of odor over night! But I discovered a way to combat the this with something that you have right in your cupboards. Baking soda! Baking soda is a wonderful PH lowerer but you must use it carefully. Only drink baking soda water (1/2 teaspoon in 8 oz of water) on an empty stomach. Otherwise you can interfere with digestion and absorption of nutrients. So one hour before or 4 hours after eating, more if it is a big meal. But after using baking soda water in the morning and at night for a month, I have seen no more signs of BV. After being on the mostly vegetable diet and using the baking soda for a month, I decided to try stopping the baking soda and I still am BV free after 6 months. only if I decide to have a glass of wine or other alcohol do I ever chase that with baking soda water, just in case. I do take folic acid and a probiotic because they help with a variety of things, but I dont like to have to take too many supplements. I don't want to be dependent on anything outside of my food. So I hope something I said helps. Good health to you.
