There are a lot of different suggestions and myths floating around out there about BV, most are no where near true, but the big important thing about BV is that doctors don't know what causes it OR how to cure it. Well I am a recovered BV sufferer and I am on a mission to spread my story to as many BV forums as possible because this problem almost ended my marriage. I tried all the things out there, supplements, douching,
Antibiotics , nothing worked for more than a week or so. So I decided to do my own research and what I found out is that BV is NOT a vaginal disorder, it is a nutritional disorder! All those douching and creams and drugs, all they do is mask or put a band aid on the problem for a few days because the problem is a whole body problem. That problem is PH or acidity. The reason that BV is such a wide spread problem (and growing) is because the american diet is grain based and far too acidic. Any biologist can look at an animal's teeth and tell you what kind of food that animal eats. Humans have teeth designed for pulverizing vegetables yet we have those remnants of canines, so if you look at our teeth, we are supposed to mostly vegetables, and a little meat. The American diet is mostly grain based, with very few vegetables, ALOT of sugar, and a lot of meat. This problem is manifesting itself in the explosion of diabetes and among women, BV. The thing that stops BV in it's tracks is lowering your entire body's PH, not just vaginally. The quickest way to do this it with baking soda water. I religiously drank a 8
oz glass of water with 1/2 teaspoon of baking soda stirred into it every morning for a month and it really did stop BV in it's tracks. but that too is a short term fix because if you diet is causing the problem, the baking soda is also just a band aid. So what you really have to do to be totally free of BV is to adjust your diet to eat mostly vegetables, and a little meat.
If you go online and research the low acid diet, that will be very helpful to tell you which foods will set off BV and which ones help. I did that and the solution I came up with is eating a large salad made with organic vegetables every meal, even breakfast. Humans are the only animals that differentiate the foods they eat between meals. I eat organic because I believe toxins also play a role in not only BV but all diseases. And meat should be wild or grass fed if possible to avoid steroids and
Antibiotics and other toxins in meat. Dairy is very acidic I found so I was able to cut that successfully from my diet, but the main rule of thumb I follow is always eat more vegetables than anything else.
Grains are not even supposed to be part of our diet. We had to invent mills to crack the hulls and grind them to eat them. They are very acidic, high in starch and therefore
Sugar and will set off BV as well, so I limit them as much as I can.
Sugar is extremely acidic so I avoid that and alcohol as much as possible, coffee, very acidic as you can imagine, the list goes on and on, so you can see how our PH got so far off. The only way to really cure BV is fix you PH so you have to decide if it is worth it to you. Basically I eat a large salad with a large variety of veggies in it and a small serving of meat, for every meal. And that is what cured my BV. I was eventually able to stop using the baking soda water which was important for me, to truly by free of this I didn't want to be tied to taking something all the time. What if you were suddenly in a situation and didnt have it? although I do take a probiotic and folic acid as a precaution, but they help lots of other things as well, not just BV. So I hope something that worked for me, works for you as well. Good health to you.
