squirrels crazy with mites
makes me think of the poor bees, who CAN't scratch. Have you ever seen a bee scratch itself? Strangely, I've seen flies lately that look as though they are going nuts with some kind of itching...
anyway, squirrels come to my balcony, and like to hide nuts in the potted plants, and then forget where they buried them, and sometimes thy get good stuff from the compost. There is one who is just going nuts with some sort of parasite, and yesterday he stood on the railing and literally cawed at me--that horrific crow-like thing they do.
I put some diatomaceous earth in a big flat pan, and put a nice ball of almond butter rolled in oat flakes, with about 1/4 tsp. of DE mixed in. The idea being he might get it all over his body, and discover that it helps. Looking around,it's easy to see animals suffering a kind of hell that we humans are sharing, suffering in various degrees as well.
Not a speck remains of that 'candy' I left last night--though I note the DE needs to be in a very flat pan, so he'sll get it on his feet, etc.
Lots of people hate squirrels, but I've noticed they will 'listen' to me, and not bother plants I ask them not to, especially if I don't send them hate vibes.
It's the bees I'd love to get hold of, with the DE and the olive leaf powder...
Anyone else going to try it? Maybe the birds also would like to take one of those dry baths.
