Lemon/Ginger/Honey drink for sore throats
You know that first sign of a cold when you get that awful sore throat, well I found this recipe that is really good for that.
Juice one of lemon (can also juice whole organic lemon if desired)
2 tbs honey; preferably raw but not necessary
1 to 2 tsp of juiced ginger (I used 2 tsp when my throat was at it's worst. Today I'm only using one tsp)
7
ounces or 200 ml of hot water
Add honey to mug, add hot water then add in lemon and ginger. I add these last to try to preserve the enzymes somewhat. Drink 3 to 4 mugs a day as needed.
I also swallowed 3 cloves of minced garlic, used my neti pot last night and today did a salt water flush first thing this morning. I only did the garlic at intervals, not 3 at once.
I also made some homemade chicken broth from a leftover roasted chicken adding
Celery and onions. The
Celery is supposed to help colds too.
This is the mildest cold I've had, so will do all these things the next time too.

Oops forgot....Just started taking taking powdered vitamin C for my thyroid so upped the dose to 4,000 mg when I realized I was getting a cold.
