Can I use maca root while using Mirena IUD?

Is there any information about the possible effect taking maca root may have on my Mirena IUD? I love my Mirena, I have had it for about 9 months with almost no side effects. I started maca 2 weeks ago and felt great, but stopped because I realized that it might reduce the effectiveness of my Mirena? Any validity to that? It's my understanding that maca does not actually behave as a hormone in the body, but that it can increase fertility. Would this action effect the way the Mirena works?
