Probiotics and the small intestine

Ok, so I looked at my probiotic capsules and it says they are entric coated to "ensure passage into the stomach and small intestines." Take a look at these renew life probiotics http://www.vitaminshoppe.com/store/en/browse/sku_detail.jsp?id=RW-1029

I thought there WASN'T supposed to be bacteria in the small intestines..?
