Re: What do you think about The Orion Project?
Looking at the website I am a little concerned about the push for money, particularly without any real idea where it is going, as the contact is only an email.
I'm going to try and contact at least one of the people mentioned in on the website.
The concept is a great one, but I would be cautious about sending money as a donation, an investment scheme would be better IMO, with some accountability as to where the funds are going.
There is nothing stopping people from independently investing in new technology, it just takes a little time to seek out the people with the inventions and ideas.
The information about inventions and ideas being buried or hidden, bought out, etc, is something that the scientific community knows very well. There have been many cases, world wide, of scientists being bribed, pressured and even killed, to keep ideas and inventions out of the public view. The money involved is huge, and the corporations have the power and the money to suppress whatever they choose. This is why there is a concerted campaign to discredit the
Science of climate change.
We, as consumers, have given the corporations this amount of power over us, (and in turn the governments that feed from them), and its us, the consumers, that have the power to change this. Our efforts will need to be as concerted as the corporate efforts to hold onto power.
